How We Pick A Winner

Once all submissions have been received, a panel of judges will begin the process of selecting a set of finalists, and a grand prize winner of The Style Contest. Judges will score and assess designs based upon the following criteria:

  • Adherence to the submission guidelines
  • Uniqueness and originality of design
  • Creativity of design
  • Appropriateness to designated category
  • Completeness of design (styles should be compatible with as many of the layout templates as possible)

From each category, judges will select an individual designer to be a finalist in The Style Contest competition. From these seven finalists the judges will elect a single designer to receive the Grand Prize package valued at over $6000. The other six finalists will each receive a Category Winner prize package valued at over $1300.

The Grand Prize Package

The Grand Prize winner will receive the following:

  • $4000 in cash
  • Adobe Web Bundle (valued at $1800), compliments of our Premiere Sponsor Adobe.
  • A free copy of Style Master (valued at $100), the premiere stylesheet editing tool for designers compliments of Westciv.
  • Promotion on Six Apart's website as the Grand Prize Winner of The Style Contest.
  • Styles featured in LiveJournal, TypePad and Movable Type

The Category Winner Prize Package

There are seven categories that qualify for category prizes:

  • Entertainment and Media
  • Hobbies and Crafts
  • Home and Family
  • New, Politics and Current Events
  • Sports and Recreation
  • Technology
  • The Kitchen Sink (everything that falls outside of the previous six categories)

Each Category Winner will receive the following:

  • $1000 in cash
  • Choice of one Adobe point product (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks) valued from $300 to $700.
  • A free copy of Style Master (valued at $100), the premiere stylesheet editing tool for designers compliments of Westciv.
  • Promotion on Six Apart's website as a finalist in The Style Contest.
  • Styles featured in LiveJournal, TypePad and Movable Type

All Qualified Contestants Win!

Every contestant wins! All qualified entrants will receive:

  • A limited-time discount at the Adobe store for $50 off any purchase of at least $350.
  • 25% discount on a purchase of Westciv's Style Master, the premiere stylesheet editing tool for designers
